Securing a job is easy???????

Very difficult question.. Lots of factors involved like-

  • Basic requirement (AMC Exams+English test)
  • Work experience
  • Practice gap
  • Communication
  • Dedications to apply without loosing hope
  • Right time (Vacancy), right person (HR), right approach
  • Finally LUCK LUCK LUCK

TRUE FACTS:

Negative facts:

  • AMC clinical pass rate is 10-15% currently,
  • Lots of Australian graduates are finishing MBBS after 2012 & there is almost no intern positions for overseas doctors after 2013,
  • Lots of overseas doctors are searching jobs
  • Highest medical entrance exam cost throughout the world
  • 100s already completed both parts of AMC, still searching jobs

Positive facts:

  • Personally I know approx 35 Bangladeshi doctors who migrated to South Australia with us sometime between 2010-2012 & currently 33 are in Australian health system !!! (Working as hospital doctors or as General Practitioners with confidence)
  • Life is beautiful when you can earn smart amount of money (100% Halaal income…ha ha), enjoy family life as you will know your starting & finishing time with minimum exceptions, when you will forget the term “CORRUPTION” & when patients eyes will respect you as a very important person of Australia for your service.

Is it too late for you???

Last month 47 years old doctor joined as an Intern..Is it too late to try ??? (My advice, don’t leave your current position)

Guidelines:

I am happy to help with information, Books to read etc etc..Only cant guarantee of your success…

Books for MCQ :
## Handbook for AMC MCQ- Very important book to get overall idea regarding AMC MCQ questions. I found this book bit complicated as all option answers are very close. took 2-3 months to read this book. Some seniors said “Dont enter in exam room without reading this minimum 4-5 times” So, read this by heart to pass AMC part 1.

# Main Text Book- John Murtagh 5th Edition Don’t read whole book. U can’t remember. Read important topics (answer topic from handbook & past papers)

Another Excellent Paediatric Guideline- RCH

# Surgery Text book- Scott. ,

# O&G Text Book- Lilly & Johns (plz search with different spelling)

# For AMC 2nd part Exam- Clinical handbook.

Finally, to pass exam- Past papers are THE MUST.

Lastly, encouraging international doctor friends to think working as a doctor in 1st world country like Australia. Its not impossible but obvious dedication & hard work is the requirement.

Please do not ask for past papers or Re calls from me as I can’t help with those as I did my MCQ on 2012.please help yourself, join different Facebook groups, make personal contacts with those who recently did their exam.. Only I can say, those are as important as the text books to pass this easy but very tricky exam.

Best of luck. Good wishes to all.

Regards

    Hi,
I am an overseas trained doctor originally from Colombia (South America). I sat the AMC-MCQ in August for the second time and unfortunately didn’t pass. My score was very close to the passing score though, and so I am interested in applying for verification of my result. I just would like to find out if that process is worth it doing (i.e. will the result change in any way?). I have already wasted the examination fee, probably wouldn’t mind wasting a few more dollars… Any advice on this regard would be very appreciated.

  9. Md Shahnur Rahman says:

    • rahman4550 says:

Not a good questions dear as multi factors involves behind this like your subject, prior experience, communication skills, knowledge, working hospitals strength etc etc. None can give u a timeframe of your future. My suggestion is, rather thinking these kind of unpredictable issues, know your strength 1St, take firm decision, start from ground level & try to reach at top. You will get there ONLY if almighty wants.. You never know what will happen to you in next 2 hours… Sorry, as I am bit straight…

  12. Seema says:

Hi, I sat the MCQ exam once and failed. I studied Murtagh thoroughly, AMC Handbook, Annonated MCQs, and Anthology of Medical conditions. The only thing I did not do is go through recalls as a lot of people suggested it was a waste of time. At the exam centre, after the exam, a candidate told me she got 95% questions from the recalls. I now realise I should have seen the recall questions as well. Anyways, I have scheduled my MCG again after 2 months. In this two months I am planning to do only recalls and questions from AMCQBank website.
Any more suggestions, I am really desperate to pass this time.
